What Tagumenyos should know about the Internet

I would like to thank and laud the minds of who conceptualized the internet. For me, the internet is one of the greatest invention man has made. A single person did not just create the Internet that we know and use today. The initial idea is credited to Leonard Kleinrock's after he published his first paper entitled "Information Flow in Large Communication Nets".

The Internet was first developed in the late 1960's, it was the summer of 1968, when the Network Working Group (NWG) held its first meeting chaired by Elmer Shapiro with the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) with attendees: Steve Carr, Steve Crocker, Jeff Rulifson, and Ron Stoughton. On that meeting the group discussed solving issues related to getting hosts to communicate with each other.

Now in December 1968, Elmer Shapiro with SRI released a report "A Study of Computer Network Design Parameters." Based on this work and earlier work done by Paul Baran, Thomas Marill and others; Lawrence Roberts and Barry Wessler helped to create the final version of the Interface Message Processor (IMP) specifications. Bolt Beranek and Newman, Inc. (BBN) was later awarded the contract to design and build the IMP sub network. It was not until July 3,1969 that UCLA puts out a press release introducing the public to the Internet.

The e-mail that we used today was developed by Ray Tomlinson in 1972. The first messaging system to send messages across a network to other users and Tim Berners Lee introduced the world wide web to the public on August 6, 1991.

So you see? There is so much to learn online that you can share to others... You can share the past, future and even current events. So my fellow Tagumenyos, start blogging, make your online browsing worthy, share a few words 300-500 words is a lot and you wouldn't know these few words you have shared helped somebody else's future...
